On Tuesday, October 12th, we completed the setup of the MicroAquarium. The water and soil samples used in mine were form the lake at Mead's Quarry at the Ijams nature center considering I took a personal interest in that sample. We drew the water up with soil, then another draw with water on the soil surface, and a final draw of just the water well-above the soil. We the placed two plants in the MicroAquariums to provide oxygen. After the samples had been setup, we began to view them underneath the microscopes.
The viewing of the MicroAquariums showed few moving organisms at first glance. However, a few minutes in they would quickly move in and out of view. The plants were also interesting to observe, because there were pockets on the side of one which one could view movement within.
